A wild sow traversed soft forest loam, her rounded frame evidence of a large litter. Rooting with a practiced snout, she gathered roots, nuts, and shoots to fuel the final stretch. She built a leaf lined nest hidden among brush, then delivered and cleaned each piglet methodically. Soon she led them outward, teaching foraging routes and alert postures. Their growing confidence echoed the forest's layered resilience.
