The Caucasian Shepherd or Caucasian Ovcharka can top 200 pounds, an imposing sight to the unprepared. Well led it becomes a steady guardian. Males live about 10 to 12 years and hail from Russia and nearby regions. Bred to guard and drive herds it is bold and powerful. Without early training and social contact this size and confidence can shift into unsafe aggression.
