The Problem With Flour in Sinks When flour meets water it becomes a sticky paste. That paste coats pipe interiors and traps passing particles. Over time it thickens into a glue like mat, especially when blended with oils. Even small rinsed amounts accumulate. Wipe bowls with a paper towel first and toss the residue to avoid clogs.
